Dualtron Ultra Electric Scooter in More Detail
To put it mildly, this is a very fast electric scooter. So much so it has the ability to scare even the most seasoned scooter rider.
The Dualtron Ultra is ranked up amongst the best electric scooters available anywhere in the world. It will accelerate from 0 to 15 mph in around 2 seconds however, it will continue all the way up to 50 mph in very little time.
In order to reach those sorts of speeds you need a lot of power and that’s exactly what the Ultra has. It features the Minimotors dual 2400W brushless motors giving you a combined output of a whopping 4800 watts. This sort of power needs an equally powerful battery so Dualtron has developed the Ultra using a massive 2072 watt hour LG-branded lithium-ion battery pack.
Dualtron claim that this monster of an electric scooter has a range of just over 74 miles although in real life scenarios we expect the real figures to be more like 40 to 50 miles dependent on rider weight and number of inclines encountered.
The Dualtron Ultra is not light. In fact we would have to be honest and state that this is a heavy bit of kit. Weighing in at 37kgs, unless you are a professional heavy weight athlete, then you won’t be carrying the Ultra around. It was designed to be ridden rather than being lifted on and off of public transport.
Dualtron Ultra Scooter Stopping Power
Now with all that power and weight you need a hell of a lot of stopping power and thankfully that’s what this fast electric scooter has. It has dual Nutt branded 160mm hydraulically actuated, ventilated disc brakes. The braking is smooth but very effective with no loss of performance.
The braking system also features ABS and will bring you to a complete halt in around 6 metres from 15 mph.
Dualtron Ultra Ride Quality
This powerful e-scooter has ample suspension to help you glide over the tarmac with ease. It comes fitted with front and rear rubber cartridge suspension and 27.9cm (10.9 inch) off-road tyres providing plenty of grip to make cornering surprisingly controlled. Overall, the tyre and cartridge style suspension combination delivers a quiet and smooth ride quality.
Exploring the Dualtron Ultra Electric Scooter Dashboard
Like the other Dualtron models the Ultra has a well-designed dashboard. It has the aluminium mountain bike style handlebars with ergonomic bar grips which make longer rides nice and comfortable. The handlebars themselves are foldable using the spring loaded folding mechanism. You pull the cocking levers and slap down the bars which will break them down in to the folded position.
The right hand side of the bars house the EYE cockpit display instrument panel and the index finger controlled accelerator, whilst the left hand side of the bars feature the second brake lever, the forward lighting button and the dual/single motor selection button.
The Dualtron Ultra does also have lower mounted front and rear lights, which are controlled on the dashboard of the scooter.
